Terms of Service

By using Synapse (the “Service”), you agree to these terms. Synapse is currently a free public beta.

Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
• You must provide accurate information and be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Your content

You retain ownership of the decks, cards, and other content you create or import. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, sync, and display that content back to you (and, for activity counts, to friends you connect with).

You are responsible for the content you import. Do not upload material you do not have the right to use, and do not use the Service to store unlawful content. Synapse is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anki or AnkiWeb.

Acceptable use

• Do not abuse, disrupt, or attempt to break the Service or its infrastructure.
• Do not attempt to access other users’ data.
• Do not use the social features to harass others.

Beta & availability

The Service is provided during beta on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind. It may change, break, or go offline without notice, and data loss is possible. Please keep your own backups by exporting your data regularly. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data or other damages arising from your use of the Service.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or to protect the Service.

Changes

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
